Costly repairs to be redone after discovery of water main leak

About $16 million in water main repairs on Pine Avenue in Montreal must be redone, one year after it began, after tests on the finished pipe showed a leak in the system.

Construction workers will now be forced to rip up the fresh pavement to correct the problem, after they attempted various techniques to locate the hole in the water main.

We feel the solution is simple: allow PVC pipe.

A frantic effort to save what was believed to be a puppy trapped in an upstate New York city's sewer system has a happy ending.
