record amounts of infrastructure money on the table. The Harper
Government has shown an unprecedented commitment to infrastructure
funding, and many of the Provinces have followed suit. But where

Our Crumbling Infrastructure
Municipalities across the country have been dealing with the trials
of corroding infrastructure. In Winnipeg, a library has been
forced to close because a sinkhole shut down the street.
Meanwhile, a similar problem shut down a high school in Ajax, Ontario,
while in Burlington, emergency crews were called when a construction
employee found himself trapped for over half an hour due to a
collapsed construction excavation.
Toronto is dealing with more floods and overflows from sanitary to
storm sewers, which has led to more beach closures. (More,
and see picture above.)
The watermain break clock tracks the cost of broken watermains to
cities across Canada... (more)
but how much broken watermains cost the economy is anyone's guess.
