There are record amounts of infrastructure money on the table.  The Harper Government has shown an unprecedented commitment to infrastructure funding, and many of the Provinces have followed suit.  But where is the money?  More.

Our Crumbling Infrastructure
Municipalities across the country have been dealing with the trials of corroding infrastructure.  In Winnipeg, a library has been forced to close because a sinkhole shut down the street.  More.

Meanwhile, a similar problem shut down a high school in Ajax, Ontario, (more) while in Burlington, emergency crews were called when a construction employee found himself trapped for over half an hour due to a collapsed construction excavation.  More.

Toronto is dealing with more floods and overflows from sanitary to storm sewers, which has led to more beach closures.  (More, and see picture above.)

The watermain break clock tracks the cost of broken watermains to cities across Canada... (more) but how much broken watermains cost the economy is anyone's guess.

Good News, Ontario - The Water that Makes it to Your Tap is Clean.
Ontarians can be confident their drinking water meets high quality standards according to the most recent report from the province’s chief drinking water inspector.  Safe-water standards have been met over 99% of the time.  So the question we're left to ask - how much of that expensive, treated water poured into the ground through rusty, broken watermains?  More.
